![]() If your kid is going through puberty right now, they probably need a good deodorant. This is when many kids experience underarm body odor for the first time. When a child goes through puberty, their apocrine sweat glands activate thanks to hormones. In my preteen years, I was likely experiencing hormonal body odor. She bought me an antiperspirant deodorant. I was mortified.Īt home that night, I asked my mom to buy me something stronger STAT because the stuff I was using just did not work. I remember changing my shirt and getting a whiff of something bad. We were riding our bikes before it got too hot to be outside. On the day I realized just how stinky my armpits could be, I was at a friend's house. It just masked the odor (and not very well I might add). It definitely wasn’t an antiperspirant because it didn't stop wetness. I hated waiting for the gel to dry, and I did NOT like the sticky feeling on my skin. ![]() ![]() I was using a gel deodorant my mom bought me that felt gooey when applying it. Like many kids, I came to this realization when I hit puberty. And later I found out people use the ordinary's glycolic acid on their armpits because glycolic acid (not sure if all ahas in general do it) prevents odor.Do you remember the day you realized your armpits can smell bad? I cant remember if it was an instant no smell because again, I used it for something else and eventually realized I didn't have the normal summer odors I get. But I'm planning on repurchasing it again. And like I said, I only stopped because of my eczema issues and hate having to use more than one body wash. Zero issues from the get go and I had no issues using it on my intimate areas. If you are interested in an acid body wash to prevent odor, I recommend Naturium glycolic acid body wash. I stopped using my glycolic body wash because I eventually had a flair up (only caused light pink bands) but that was after continuous use, and leaving it on for 2-3 minutes for almost a year (I used it to treat kp and only found out as a bonus it helps with summer body odor). Also, it made my eczema patches on my wrists flair up really bad (redness, bumps, and scaliness) after only three uses. Again, didn't have this issue before the switch. I didn't have this issue until the second time I used this wash. As for body odor, outside of that, I think it did an okay job but I think it actually caused my armpits to have a slight oniony smell. I had this same issue with Summer's Eve as well. So I do not recommend using it for your private areas even though it says it's safe/been tested. Previously, I used Olay moisture ribbon in Peony with zero discomfort or change in odor. I also noticed it caused a strong almost fishy smell in less than 24 hours as well. The same thing happened when I used it again, and finally called it quits at 4 uses. It says it is gyno tested and when I used it on my intimate parts, they were itchy in less than 24 hrs. I give it a 2/10 and that's because I love the smell. It does smell good sort of a floral spicy tea scent, and I think the scent is almost completely gone within 10 minutes max. Long story short, I don't recommend it and suggest Naturium glycolic acid body wash instead. So I just bought the body wash a week ago for summer odor control (not sweat, it doesn't help prevent sweat). Posts without a valid tag will be removed by Automoderator.
